Cartoon 2 July 9

According to the Quadriga of the International Monetary Fund, the European Commission, the European Central Bank and European Stability Mechanism the preparation for the next batch of Greek reforms did not progress as much as it should have. EU cannot understand that Greece is a failed state, a basket case, a kleptocracy.

Many Greeks are infuriated that Tsipras doesn’t give a damn about the refugee crisis, reinforcing a growing feeling that he is out of touch. Syriza has been weakened by corruption scandals. Ministers fail to include many properties in their declaration of assets.  Graecokleptocrats have appointed many kith and kin to senior public-sector jobs. Taxes are rising, VAT stays at 23%, and unemployment remains at 25%. Capital controls, including a measure limiting bank withdrawals to €420 a week, are still in place. Nevertheless, salaries and fringe benefits of Graecokleptocrats skyrocket.  The people suffer, but Graecokleptocrats along with their kith and kin enjoy dolce vita in huge luxury.

Smuggling of rapefugees is orchestrated by the government of Turkey in order to Islamize EU.  The invasion of Europe by Islam brings a huge flow of bribes to the kith and kin of Erdoğan. Erdoğan Mafiosi coordinate the boarding of smuggler boats bound for the Greek islands.

All this has created a backlash against Tsipras. Around the country farmers, his former allies, have blocked main roads with their tractors. Syriza flags have been set alight. Lawyers, doctors, pensioners, and engineers have taken to the streets to protest against a planned pension reform, and truck drivers are threatening to do the same.

Meanwhile, Graecokleptocrats are struggling to deal with the thousands of refugees who are still crossing the Aegean Sea to land on Greek shores. International NGOs and hundreds of volunteers are doing much of the hard work on Greek islands such as Lesbos.

Juncker, Merkel, and Avramopoulos must resign right now. Enough is enough of their nonsense. These clowns support the Islamization of EU and Turkey’s membership in EU!  Moreover, they promised visa-free travel to Turks.  You could imagine all these Turkish hoi polloi swarming EU, running amuck in European streets imposing sharia and jihad!

Corrupt Erdoğan sends the Muslim pseudorefugees to EU and then he demands many billions of euros and visa-free travel for Turks in order to stop doing this illegality!  If this is not extortion, what is it?  Well, we can see the outcome.  Extortionist Erdoğan will get his billions of euros, but he will not stop sending the Muslim pseudorefugees to EU, and he will send many millions of Turks to Islamize EU! Corrupt Erdoğan never keeps up his word.

Most polls give New Democracy, the conservative opposition party, a clear lead. The party’s newly-elected leader, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, is a libertarian reformer known for cutting civil-service jobs when he was a government minister.

In the long run the government’s fate depends on whether it can revive an ailing economy and cope with the refugee crisis. But in the short term it needs to convince its creditors—the European Union and the International Monetary Fund—that it has fulfilled the promises it made last summer to secure its current €86 billion bail-out agreement. Tsipras was told that vigorous reforms are the price for any more help. Previous Greek governments have found that imposing harsh but necessary measures is a good way to get yourself kicked out of power. Tsipras may be about to follow.

Investing in Greece is a sure way to lose money.  Bureaucracy, taxation, and political corruption are out of this world.  VAT is 23%, public employees demand bribes to do their job, the justice system is not functioning at all with court cases postponed infinite times for more than six years, policemen are brutal beasts and liars, and politicians are bribe collectors.

Greece has the most inefficient justice on planet Earth, a real basket case! Moreover, Greece has the most corrupt and most brutal police in EU.  Especially, the Cyber Crimes Unit (CCU) is a police mafia that terrorizes bloggers and netizens, used by government as a political tool.  Without proper justice and police, Greece is crippled as a Third World country.

Greece is not democracy, but kleptocracy, the infamous Graecokleptocracy.  The Greek parliament, the grand brothel of kleptocracy on Syntagma Square, is full of thieves, the infamous Graecokleptocrats.  Diogenes could not find one honest Greek MP.  Most Greek MPs are crooks!  They legislate not to help the people, but to get bribes.

The Greek political parties are mafias. The leader of a party has dictatorial powers like the godfather of Cosa Nostra.  He does whatever he wishes, and he can dismiss any MP any moment without real reason.  MPs enjoy parliamentary immunity, committing crimes with impunity.

Two Greek mafias, Pasok and New Democracy, have destroyed Greece, robbing the Treasury, churning pension funds, and receiving myriad huge bribes.  Pasok is the most corrupt political party on planet Earth.  Pasok introduced all stupid laws of immunity and impunity of MPs and ministers of government.

Graecokleptocrats use the corrupt Greek Orthodox Church as a tool to stupefy hoi polloi.  Most bishops are gay and corrupt morons, easily blackmailed and manipulated.  All salaries of clergy are paid by the state, in return for fooling hoi polloi.  The stupid constitution of Greece grants lèse-majesté and spiritual monopoly to the Church of Greece.

Greek economic ills are rooted in the huge political corruption and the values and beliefs of Greek society. Greece’s public sector is rife with clientelism to gain votes and cronyism to gain favors – far more so than in other parts of Europe. Maximum pensions for public employees relative to wages are nearly twice as high as in Spain; the government favors business elites with tax-free status; and some state employees draw their salaries without actually turning up for work.

There are serious ills in the private sector, too – notably, the pervasive influence of vested interests and the country’s business and political elites. Insiders receive subsidies and contracts, and outsiders find it hard to break in. Astoundingly, young Greek entrepreneurs reportedly fear to incorporate their firms in Greece, lest others use false documents to take away their companies. Greece is one of the hardest places in Europe to start a business. The result is that competition for market share is weak and there are few firms with new ideas.

The stunted system springs from Greece’s corporatist values, which emphasize huge political corruption, social protection, solidarity instead of competition, and discomfort with uncontrolled change. These values are a recipe for a static economy and stultified careers.

Indeed, Greece’s labor productivity (GDP per worker) is only 72% of the level in the UK and Italy, and a mere 57.7% of that in Germany. And surveys indicate that mean life satisfaction in Greece is far below that found in the wealthiest EU countries. Corporatism impoverishes the less advantaged. EU data on poverty rates put Greece at 21.4% – far higher than the mean EU15 rate of 16.7%.

Two important sources of broad prosperity are blocked by Greece’s system. One is an abundance of entrepreneurs engaged in detecting and exploiting new economic opportunities. Without them, Greece does a poor job of adjusting to changing circumstances. Greece’s much-lauded shipowners, for example, were too slow to adapt to containerization, and thus lost their market share.

The other source of broad prosperity is an abundance of business people engaged in conceiving and creating new products and processes, the indigenous innovation. Here, Greece lacks the necessary dynamism: venture capital investment flows are smaller, relative to GDP, in Greece than in any other EU country. So Greece’s economy has scant ability to create sustained productivity growth and high human satisfaction.

For several years, Greece drew on the EU’s structural funds and on loans from German and French banks to finance a wide array of highly labor-intensive projects. Employment and incomes soared, and savings piled up. When that capital inflow stopped, asset prices in Greece fell, and so did demand for labor in the capital-goods sector. Moreover, with household wealth having far outstripped wage rates, the supply of labor diminished. Thus, Greece went from boom to outright slump.

The structuralist perspective also explains why recovery has been slow. With competition weak, entrepreneurs did not rush to hire the unemployed. When recovery began, political unrest last fall nipped confidence in the bud.

The truth is that Greece needs more than just debt restructuring or even debt relief. If young Greeks are to have a future in their own country, they and their elders need to develop the attitudes and institutions that constitute an inclusive modern economy – which means shedding their corporatist values.

Europe, for its part, must think beyond the necessary reforms of Greece’s pension system, tax regime, and collective-bargaining arrangements. While Greece has reached the heights of corporatism, Italy and France are not far behind – and not far behind them is Germany. All of Europe, not just Greece, must rethink its economic philosophy.

Greece constantly accumulates new debt, piling it up on already non-viable debt, pretending that it has solved the crisis, the debt deflationary spiral is enhanced, and the country becomes unreformable. It is something Graecokleptocrats have not managed to address.

The political situation in Greece is very toxic. You have an economic system in free fall. Lenders and creditors are imposing upon Greece new loans under the conditions that will ensure that they will not get their money back! No politician, however skilled he might be, can survive the economic implosion which drags down along with it the political system.  There must be an end to extending and pretending.

Déjà vu at the gates of Vienna! The Battle of Vienna on 11th and 12th of September 1683 came after the imperial city of Vienna had been besieged by the Ottoman Empire for two months. We are now in a new phase of a very old war.  Islam now invades Europe with tsunamis of Muslim pseudorefugees.  We have to defend the gates of Vienna again. But, squandering the taxpayers’ hard-earned money, EU finances the Western Balkans Islamic Route to the gates of Vienna!

Liberals openly admit that they do not wish to talk about Muslim crimes. So no wonder liberals would do anything to avoid fanning these flames, since we see in all this righteous indignation a blatantly racist old trope about barbarians at the gates. We bend over backwards to report it responsibly, to moderate the frothing rage.

Avoiding fanning the flames, however, turns out not to be true. Many liberals seem to have no problems fanning the flames of racial hatred, so long as Muslims are not at the receiving end. At the very top of their hatred are Jews. Many in the media gleefully participate with skewed, selective reporting of facts, especially in the Middle East. The European media have virtually ignored the current wave of daily Palestinian stabbings, shootings, car-rammings and stone-throwings, and the rocket attacks into Israel from the Gaza Strip. These attacks are aimed at innocent civilians, and are whipped up by the Palestinian Authority.

The desire of many Europeans and other self-declared devotees of human rights to cover up, downplay or explain away what is happening in Europe, in fact represents the opposite of what people genuinely concerned with human rights care about, respect for others and equality before the law.

When a society built on the rule of law begins to cover up criminal behavior and absolve criminals of responsibility, this only weakens and corrodes the very values it claims to want to uphold. Absolving such criminal behavior is not only the very opposite of justice, it is also a kind of inverted racism against its own native Europeans.

As it turns out, the liberal ethos seems anything but. It is actually totalitarian in its desire to adapt reality, at all costs, to its own fantasies, agendas, and narratives. Objective truth is treated as disposable.

Europe has voluntarily begun the process of giving up its liberal and hard-fought-for freedoms. Free speech no longer exists, only straight out of totalitarian ideologies responsible free speech: free only if it does not offend anyone. That is not free speech, that is censored speech. Speech that does not offend anyone does not need protecting.

Pegida, Patriotische Europäer gegen die Islamisierung des Abendlandes, Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of Occident, is an anti-Islamic political movement founded in Dresden in October 2014. It organizes weekly demonstrations, calling for more restrictive immigration rules, particularly for Muslims who refuse to integrate, considering Muslim pseudorefugees invaders, and EU a Muslim garbage dump.

Pegida is a democratic grassroots organization, without origins in the far-left, far-right or links to any political parties, domestic or foreign.

Geert Wilders sees Pegida as a sign of the growing discontent of ordinary people with the political elite now governing them. A revolution is on its way. Wilders’s PVV, currently by far the largest party in the Dutch polls, is itself more of a spontaneous movement, driven by the energy and charisma of one single man with a mission to liberate his country from Islamic extremism, rather than an established and structured political party.

That Pegida is a spontaneous and diffuse organization of citizens expressing their discontent, seems to be worrying the German political establishment. Merkel knows how powerful these movements can become. In 1989, when thousands of people shouting  Wir sind das Volk, We are the people, took to the streets in cities such as Dresden, the Communist regime in East Germany was toppled.

Protesters of Pegida are using exactly the same slogan Wir sind das Volk of the anti-Communist demonstrators as they march against the open-door policies of the German government.

Pegida’s worries about the Islamization of Occident concern the seeming intolerance and religious fanaticism that have grown hand in hand with the arrival of Muslim populations unwilling to adapt to Western values. But by decrying Pegida’s views as xenophobic, narrow minded and even inhuman, EU’s ruling establishment shows how deeply out of touch it is with the worries of a large segment of the population.

Each Fourth Reich nation had its history. For each nation the flag-lowering meant something different. The Italians, whose constitution seems designed to prevent them ever agreeing on anything, signed up to the euro with a huge sigh of relief; hopefully they would never again have to decide monetary policy for themselves. How badly that fantasy has backfired. Poland and the Eastern nations were running for shelter from Russia, looking to grow rich fast, but had no serious intention of surrendering their newfound sovereignty. Hence the recent victory of the Euroskeptic right in Poland.

But at first it did work wonderfully. France and Germany became the best of friends. Not a saber has rattled for 50 years. We are good folks. We just find it difficult when anyone interrupts our moneymaking. We find it hard to assume responsibility. Meantime citizens can move freely around Fourth Reich. Nineteen states use the same currency. These are huge achievements. We hold them dear.

No-nonsense Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban has spoken out on the Europe migrant crisis, calling it a major security issue.

Orban blasts European cowardice in the face of migrant terrorism, and predicts his remarks would be ignored by the mainstream media in most European countries.

Orban calls for the fence he created at the Hungarian border, which reduced illegal migrant incursions into his country from 10,000 a day to just a couple of dozen after it was completed, to be extended. He says it should also reach around Bulgaria, Slovenia, and North Macedonia, creating a unified European front line.

Orban says the migrant crisis had moved beyond concerns of alien cultures invading Europe, but has developed into a simple matter of security. It is not about our culture any-more, it is not only about our culture, money ,or about our social welfare system. It is about everyday safety. The threat of terrorism is increasing and public safety is deteriorating.

One is not allowed to say such things in Europe, it is forbidden, and some countries will not even broadcast what Orban points out. But the situation is that European citizens are living under a threat, especially the vulnerable ones, women, and those who are unable to defend themselves.

This is unacceptable. This is why Orban thinks that from now on the issue of migration is principally one of public security, and he believes that all politicians have been primarily elected to guarantee the protection of their citizens.

“Of course it’s not accepted, but the factual point is that all the terrorists are basically migrants,” says Orbán. “The question is when they migrated to the European Union.”

In his office at the Hungarian parliament, the prime minister points toward the flowing Danube. In another era, an aide notes, the Turks followed this river into the heart of Europe. Behind Orbán hang two maps: One shows a short stretch of Hungary’s border with Croatia and another gives a panoramic view of the Balkans toward Turkey, from where hundreds of thousands of migrants have made their way north.

Orbán lays out his prescriptions for Europe’s ailments: An impenetrable external border to boost security and save the Schengen treaty on passport-less travel within the EU; a new EU constitutional convention that strengthens the power of nation states and weakens Brussels; and normalized relations with Russia.

Thinking of Paris and its aftermath, the Hungarian leader posits an overwhelming logical connection between terrorism and the movement of Muslims into Europe. “The majority of our leaders in the West deny the fact,” he adds. That denial of the obvious — which the Hungarian leader blames on political correctness run amok — destabilizes European politics by increasing the gap between the leaders and the people.

Whether European leaders like Orbán or not, the Hungarian’s critique of the EU’s migration policy changed the terms of the debate. With blaring alarms about terrorism across Europe, the leader of this country of ten million is again the uncensored Ieader of the European right, offering ideas that the rest of the bloc can’t ignore.

Linking terror to migration, Orbán says the number one job after Paris is to defend the borders and to control who is coming in. NATO and EU countries are at war with Islamists in the Middle East and Afghanistan, and it’s quite logical that enemies would seek to send fighters with migrants coming into Europe. All of them present a security threat because we don’t know who they are. If you allow thousands or millions of unidentified persons into your house, the risk of terrorism will significantly increase.

Orbán says he doesn’t presume to tell Western European countries such as Belgium and France how to deal with the offspring of Muslim migrants who belong to parallel societies, holding EU passports but rejecting Western values.

But, as calls grow to rethink open borders — with five Western European countries holding preliminary talks about a more limited mini-Schengen zone (which wouldn’t include Hungary) — Orbán presents his hard line on frontiers as the best way to silence calls to suspend or bury Schengen.

“We would like to save Schengen,” he says. “We would like to save the liberties … including the free movement inside the European Union,” which, he says, are imperiled by unregulated and porous external borders.

Hungary was widely criticized for building a barbed wire fence along its border with Serbia to stop the waves of new arrivals. For Orbán, Hungary was merely upholding the law of the Union that Greece (a major problem) failed to do by allowing the migrants to continue north unimpeded.

Orbán’s opposition helped torpedo a scheme championed by the European Commission for a mandatory resettlement of migrants across the EU, and flipped the discussion from how best to accommodate the refugees to one of how to stop them from coming at all.

For the Hungarian, this calls for a wholesale rethink of EU. The bloc is only reacting, reacting, crisis after crisis, instead of having a concept. Asked if EU will be here in ten years, he says it’s an open question.

In Orbán’s proposed reform of EU, the balance of powers would tilt back toward nation states and away from leaders in Brussels who have very much the pro-United States of Europe position.

The Hungarian has no illusions about the ability of a leader of a small Central European nation to force his views onto the EU agenda. Even David Cameron and the British are not strong enough to generate a European discussion, he says, and are limited to negotiating terms of a deal for Britain alone. Innovation is part of politics, he says, but basically it’s an art of reality.

He isn’t a dictator à la Putin or Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to use the gibe thrown at him by Jean-Claude Juncker. In his half comic, half mutually contemptuous routine with the European Commission chief, Orbán returns serve by calling the Luxembourger the Grand Duke.

The Hungarian waves aside comparisons of his ruling style with the autocrat in Moscow and Turkey’s strong-handed leader as ridiculous and a lazy way of thinking — an insult that Western European politicians use to try to marginalize him.

“If I … disagree with them, they say, ‘You are not a democrat, you are not a good man, you belong to the bad guys’,” he says. Any time he breaks with the very arrogant and aggressive Western European mainstream on migration or another issue, he says, “we are morally labeled as xenophobic, Putin-type, whatever.”

The censures come not just from Brussels and Berlin but Hungary’s ally across the Atlantic. In unusually blunt terms, the U.S. ambassador to Hungary last month criticized the Orbán government’s crackdowns on NGOs, limits on media freedoms, the packing of the courts with allies, the redrawing of electoral districts in ways that favor the ruling coalition and corruption.

“Liberalism in Europe now concentrates not on freedom but on political correctness. It became a sclerotic ideology. Dogmatic, may I say. The liberals are enemies of freedom” who, he says, want to limit Hungary’s freedom to make its choices as a nation-state.

“Liberalism became a mainstream politics. They fight against everybody who does not belong to the mainstream. But not to belong to the mainstream does not mean that you are not in favor of freedom. Just the opposite now.”

No collective identity has grown out of Fourth Reich. Not a shred. In this respect Fourth Reich has failed utterly. We know of no one for whom the idea of going to war for Fourth Reich, dying for Fourth Reich, would not be a joke, a caprice, a fantasy. There is no respect for the European Parliament, no affection for Brussels or Strasbourg. And the dream of a single European state, or even a European federation, has faded.

The long economic crisis of recent years has exposed the radical differences between the member economies and raised huge questions about the euro. Rather than present itself as a source of wealth or an ideological inspiration, the Union is now a tiresome, sometimes tyrannical accountant telling us what we can and cannot spend, what taxes we must pay, how low our pensions must be. And a German accountant at that.

It’s clear to everyone that the one true center of power in Fourth Reich is Berlin. The old farce of collective decision-making is over. It took too long. Everything was compromise and fudge. When decisions have to be made fast, Germany makes them. Germany calls the shots. Yet no one is remotely interested in German culture. Huge numbers of novels and films are brought in from USA, the Anglophone world, but not from Germany. We are falling under Germany’s sway, without the slightest interest in how Germany lives, what Germany thinks. Better Game of Thrones, better the latest Hollywood blockbusters. We know more about the American primaries than the German elections, or indeed the European parliamentary elections which we ourselves vote in. We are more likely to look at the New York Times than the Frankfurter Allgemeine.

Ideologically, globalization has swept away the illusion of European identity. From the coast of Puglia, Italians can see Albania on the horizon, but it is far more likely they will travel to New York than Tirana. With Germany and France at the core of the Union, nevertheless the lingua franca is English, the language of the country most skeptical about its Fourth Reich membership. So the vast majority of European schoolchildren (more than 95 percent) acquire a second language that draws them toward a culture hostile to the European ideal. Or at least indifferent. How can a European identity flourish in these circumstances? Meantime France, which must have hoped its once-global language would prevail in Fourth Reich, languishes under a kind of enchantment, apparently unable to acknowledge how profoundly the world has changed.

In response to war and unemployment, people move. Fourth Reich is overwhelmed with migrants who almost all want to go to Berlin or London, and to a lesser degree Paris. They are a source of deep division. And Fourthreichians themselves are heading in droves to Berlin and London. The free movement of citizens means the strengthening of the strong, the attraction of young, able-bodied, well-educated citizens to the dynamic centers of power. Spanish and Italian graduates are packing their bags as I write. On the streets of the British and German capitals the thrill of new energy, new blood, cultural vitality, is tangible, electric. Milan, for all its expo, is tired and tame in comparison. Rome is chaotic, overwhelmed with corruption scandals.

The desired stability has become stagnation. Instead of putting an end to history we are in thrall to it. Surrendering economic sovereignty to Brussels, the weaker countries reveled in their newfound irresponsibility, then woke up to creeping poverty and a terrible loss of control over their lives. The whole eurozone paid the price of German obsession with monetary severity, waiting ruinous years to join the U.S. and Britain in the quantitative easing that has finally kick-started a weak recovery. But the damage has been done. From being a prosperous bandwagon you might want to fall in with, Europe has become a straitjacket.

Above all we discover that the nation-state is in rude health. With all their internal problems, the British, French, Germans, Spanish, Italians, Greeks, Belgians, Dutch, Poles, Romanians, and so on enjoy strong feelings of collective identity. The deep dye of nationality has not washed out in the melting pot. Quite the contrary. In the constant battle to push the Union this way and that, countries have become more aware of their differences and special interests. This is particularly true when it comes to foreign policy. Pacifist by inspiration, the EU is unable even to threaten its enemies with a response. It appoints “foreign ministers” who are comically lightweight. There is not even a pretense of seriousness. Deprived of hegemony in the Union, France discovers its old identity when it acts unilaterally outside of it. Britain never planned to do anything else. Economically in the driving seat, Germany still finds any warlike posturing unthinkable. Confusion. Perhaps the situation was fine while Russia was licking its post-USSR wounds. With Putin rampant it looks like folly.

Dismantling the whole is unthinkable. Going on as we are likewise. None of the present European leaders would dream up the EU if it wasn’t there — that mood is gone, and to date none of them has told us what they want to do to bring it into line with a world that is utterly changed and moving very fast. What is the purpose of a European Parliament when we vote for it according to national party lines and are absolutely oblivious as to what it might or might not do once our vote is cast? Is it just a fig leaf for democratic process, while one nation makes the decisions for all? Is Fourth Reich in fact a German empire by default? Certainly it has begun to feel like that in Greece.

The British attitude to Fourth Reich from start to finish has been opportunistic and pragmatic, never idealistic. Uninvited, they joined (after two applications were rejected) because it made sense commercially. They didn’t join the euro because it did not make sense. They resent every cession of sovereignty that isn’t strictly necessary for making money, and many that are necessary. Just trying to imagine the details of these renegotiations brings on a headache. Thinking of how the process might fit in with the needs of different leaders of different political credos to get themselves reelected in different countries at different times is stupefying. All the same, renegotiation does offer a chance for a few leaders of common sense and good will finally to get to grips with what Fourth Reich is for and what sort of positive collective identity it expresses, if any. If that doesn’t happen, which seems by far the more likely scenario, then we will be looking at the beginning of the end.

The Dolly Sisters were off to Davos last week for the World Economic Forum: Nat Rothschild and Sebastian Taylor in their finest, playing up to Harry Selfridge, in reality Christine Lagarde, the IMF chief under indictment. The purpose of a week’s total waste of time is advertised as a discussion of the global issues of the day. In reality it’s utter twaddle, unless one is networking like the Dolly Sisters, or showing off like Justin Trudeau, the Canadian premier whose mother is Margaret, once upon a time a Studio 54 regular and a friend of yours truly. Old Greek ship-owning families, prominent ones like the Livanoses, Goulandrises, and Chandrises, eschew such shenanigans, leaving it to that down-market version of Zorba the Greek, Alexis Tsipras, a man whose vulgar manner and hairy appearance would have pleased the likes of Tom Driberg and Guy Burgess almost as much as he’s pleased the Greek electorate, who have voted him prime minister twice within a year.

Not everyone in Davos is a hustler, starting with the sainted editor of The Spectator, who wrote in The Telegraph last week about his surprise at a 54-quid hamburger. You should try Gstaad during the high season, oh exalted one. Another good man among the barbarians was Dimitris Diamandopoulos, a.k.a. Jamie Dimon, of J.P. Morgan fame. Yes, we Greeks get around, but most of us dislike mingling in a circus of egotism and self-absorption like Davos has become. And speaking of Greeks, all of us here in Gstaad have decided to boycott the Academy Awards this year because no Hellenes have been nominated.

Actually, although invited to the after-Oscars party these last twenty years by the Vanity Fair editor, Graydon Carter, I have never attended. That’s because, year after year, no Greek actor or actress has made the nominated grade. I have spoken to my NBF, Harvey Weinstein, about having more Greeks among those who vote, but Harvey wasn’t aware that we had moving pictures in old Hellas. Especially talkies. Anyway, the mother of my children has decided to boycott watching the awards, which should scare the shit out of the networks, so expect Greek actors and actresses to be nominated next year for the first Technicolor movie that is also a talkie in the land of Tsipras. Who says African-American methods of crying foul nonstop don’t always work? The next thing you know, Charlotte Rampling will accuse Greeks of being anti-American, heaven forbid.

But let’s be serious for a change: What they should have been discussing up in the Alps is that jihadism is not about to be defeated in 2016, and that war and misery in the Middle East and Africa will send millions and millions of people to invade Europe. Tunisia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Nigeria, Indonesia, Turkey, France, Iraq, Syria, and Egypt are under attack, and the fat cats up high in the Swiss mountainsides are discussing robotics and artificial intelligence. The migrant crisis is the greatest threat to Europe since a certain Austrian-born failed artist decided to send his Panzers east and west. A German chancellor was the bad guy back then, and a German chancellor is the bad guy today. A fact that kills this Greco-German, who loves the country of Goethe and Beethoven and Rundstedt and Guderian and Schubert and von Karajan, even more than Ava Gardner and Betty Grable.

But not to worry. Uncle Sam has the Saudis on his side—and William Kristol. The latter is a short, fat man who was the Goebbels to George W’s Führer. Kristol’s rhetoric and propagandizing helped persuade the most intelligent man to ever inhabit the White House to attack Iraq in 2003. And I ask you, dear readers: How is it possible that a man like Kristol and his fellow neocons are still influential in Washington after having aided and abetted the greatest American foreign-policy disaster ever? Millions have become refugees, perhaps a couple million have died, close to 2 trillion greenbacks have been wasted, and still these people are swanning around D.C. spreading their foul ideas.

Their latest gambit is to sink Donald Trump. The Donald’s consistency in the polls can be explained in five words: He speaks for the ignored. People both in the U.S. and in Europe are sick and tired of the threats of terrorism, of race riots, and of multiculturalism. And most of all, of political correctness. Trump has a ready audience among white working-class people, the very same people elitists and the bien-pensants like the neocons ignore and actually think very little of. The media has been having a hell of a time crucifying Trump; no adjective goes unsaid, yet still he clings to his polls. After the great Enoch Powell speech alluding to the Roman poet Virgil, he became a nonperson because Ted Heath was shocked, shocked that someone in his party spoke the truth. Yet 74 percent of those surveyed agreed with what the great Enoch had said. No one ever mentions this fact, just the allusion to the rivers of blood.

Race and immigration are two things, like sex and money used to be, that people are not allowed to talk about. Well, they can all go to hell. The EU is a dictatorship by unelected bureaucrats who wish to control our lives. Our elected representatives know this, yet are doing everything they can to perpetuate it. That’s what they should have been discussing in Davos.

Ahmed Yussuf and Osman

Three Somali men who gang-raped a white 16-year-old girl in the bathroom of a hotel where they went to celebrate Eid have been jailed for 30 years.

The seizure of Infidel girls and their use as sex slaves is sanctioned in the Qur’an. According to Islamic law, Muslim men can take “captives of the right hand” (Qur’an 4:3, 4:24, 33:50). The Qur’an says: “O Prophet! Lo! We have made lawful unto thee thy wives unto whom thou hast paid their dowries, and those whom thy right hand possesseth of those whom Allah hath given thee as spoils of war” (33:50). 4:3 and 4:24 extend this privilege to Muslim men in general. The Qur’an says that a man may have sex with his wives and with these slave girls: “The believers must (eventually) win through, those who humble themselves in their prayers; who avoid vain talk; who are active in deeds of charity; who abstain from sex, except with those joined to them in the marriage bond, or (the captives) whom their right hands possess, for (in their case) they are free from blame.” (Qur’an 23:1-6)

The rape of captive women is also sanctioned in Islamic tradition: Abu Sirma said to Abu Sa’id al Khadri (Allah he pleased with him): 0 Abu Sa’id, did you hear Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) mentioning al-’azl? He said: Yes, and added: We went out with Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) on the expedition to the Bi’l-Mustaliq and took captive some excellent Arab women; and we desired them, for we were suffering from the absence of our wives, (but at the same time) we also desired ransom for them. So we decided to have sexual intercourse with them but by observing ‘azl (Withdrawing the male sexual organ before emission of semen to avoid conception). But we said: We are doing an act whereas Allah’s Messenger is amongst us; why not ask him? So we asked Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him), and he said: It does not matter if you do not do it, for every soul that is to be born up to the Day of Resurrection will be born. (Sahih Muslim 3371)

It is also in Islamic law: “When a child or a woman is taken captive, they become slaves by the fact of capture, and the woman’s previous marriage is immediately annulled.” (Umdat al-Salik O9.13)

Muhyadeen Osman, Bilal Ahmed and Mowled Yussuf, all now 20, were just teenagers when they attacked the girl at the Victoria Park Hotel in Manchester, regarding her as ‘easy prey’, the court heard.

The group, then all aged 17, had spent the previous night in the hotel with a number of other men as part of Eid celebrations when one of their friends, who had met the girl on BlackBerry Messenger, brought her round saying she should ‘meet his boys.’

In the run up to the assault the group moved from room to room looking for unlocked doors to hide from a porter.

They eventually got into a bedroom where Yussuf was first to force the girl to perform a sex act on him in the bathroom.

Despite her repeatedly telling the group that she didn’t want to have intercourse, she was forced to perform a sex act on Ahmed before he raped her.

Osman then joined in after he had been ‘hanging around’ outside the door. He then moved her to the bed and raped her himself.

Their victim, now a university student, was left alone as the gang dispersed – only to realise that her mobile phone and cash had been taken from her handbag.

She initially only reported the theft but the day after the attack she revealed the extent of her ordeal.

DNA matching the offenders was recovered from the scene and she later picked the men out in identity parades.

In a victim impact statement read to the court, the teenager said she no longer felt confident to go out of the house and her education had suffered.

At Manchester Crown Court Yussuf was convicted of rape, oral rape and assault by penetration following a trial was jailed for ten years.

Ahmed, who was convicted of oral rape, was locked up for nine years whilst Osman got 12 years after being convicted of an unrelated robbery in which he mugged an innocent man on the street for his rings and mobile phone was also taken into account.

In dramatic scenes outside the courtroom around 60 members of Manchester’s Somalian community protested against the verdicts suggesting the three men were being ‘victimised’ because of their race, while the victim was a white Brit.

They managed to pile into the public gallery and gasped as the sentences were handed down – while Yussuf flicked a middle finger at the mother of their victim, who was present.

The court heard the girl was on her summer holidays between school and beginning her A-levels when she began talking to a friend of the gang Ibrahim Jama on BlackBerry Messenger.

They exchanged messages and agreed to meet – but as Jama met her at a bus stop shortly before 11am, he soon convinced her to perform a sex act on him in an alleyway.

Prosecuting, Henry Blackshaw said: ‘He then made reference to ‘his boys’ that were at the Victoria Park hotel, so she accompanied him.

‘Once in the hotel she was then involved in what was talked about as a game of going to hotel rooms with the group and hiding away from the porter.’

CCTV then captured the group and the girl disappearing into one hotel room for around 30 minutes while the attacks took place….

The Cologne sex attacks are similar to a night out in Birmingham and any other UK city with many Muslims.  Islam now terrorizes many British streets. Muslim taharrushers bring pandemonium to many neighborhoods.

Cameron’s use of the words “bunch of migrants” to describe the rapefugees of Calais was very kind. Cameron of course, was technically right to use the term. There was certainly a bunch in its strictest sense. And they were indeed migrants.

We know from the drama in Calais – read about the plight of Calais residents, for example – that mobs of fighting age men are staking their claim to economic betterment while the liberal left continue to grant them refugee or asylum status before the fact.

But when you look at the facts, it becomes apparent that bunch of migrants was too soft. In fact, we should be calling some of them braying jackals, or thieves and muggers – those willing to flout the law in their search for freebies in Britain. And even then, they’ll probably complain about their complimentary meals, provided courtesy of the British tax payer.

Look back to recent pronouncements, admissions even, made by charities in Calais. Clothes and food are being dumped and burnt by the migrants in Calais. They have enough food, they have enough clothes and we have seen clothes everywhere thrown.

The fact is the British people are being played for mugs again, and the pro-migrant, disaster tourism brigades who stoke up tensions in Calais drip feed news stories into the media. Mass migration and open borders is a bumper industry. The British government is spending tax payer money funding these groups who attack the tax payer and indeed the British government.

A keynote speech usually lasts an hour, corresponding to a transcript of fifteen regular type pages. The speaker must have a good hook, walk the talk with a powerful presence, entertain, and reach the audience. He must tell them what he is going to talk about, give an inspirational oration with passion, and summarize. Standing ovation is the goal.

The audience wants an experience, a transformation, not just information. The speech must change the audience in some way. The speaker must tune in, establish rapport, connect, have a dynamic theme, tell stories, show humor, create a dialogue with smart questions, use eye contact and gestures, master silence, and conclude with a dynamic urge to action.

The best speeches are extempore, prepared but delivered without notes.  Impromptu speeches are not prepared.  Use your arms naturally to illustrate what you are saying.  Extend your arm periodically, bridging the gap between you and your audience, to reach out with your hand in handshake position.

Kinesthetic speakers feed an audience’s hunger to experience a presentation on a physical, as well as an intellectual, level. Kinesthetic speakers create powerful nonverbal messages that reinforce their verbal ones. By generating kinesthetic, aural, and visual stimuli, kinesthetic speakers create a rich sensory experience for their audiences.

Whenever effective public speakers end a sentence or phrase, they usually pause. This gives listeners time to absorb their words.  When I pause, I use the time to make eye contact with individuals in the audience.  I also use the pause to choose precisely what I will say next, based on how the audience is following my presentation.

Many huge speaker fees of politicians are camouflage of bribes!  When a kleptocrat gets a hundred thousand euros to speak, you must be sure this is a bribe, pure and simple.  My fee is ten thousand euros.  All fees are payable one month in advance of the event.

Basil Venitis speaks up for liberty and tax revolt at events around the world.  At the podium, Venitis criticizes the dysfunctional kleptocracy that exists in all countries today and highlights the need for anarchy, abolition of taxes, privatization of everything, and unlimited personal liberties.

Venitis captures the attention and hearts of conferees by relating the current issues such as debt, depression, privacy, and freedom to political corruption. His unwavering passion leaves conferees motivated to speak out, revolt, and let kleptocrats know what they want.

Smart words are more effective than smart bombs. For your conference, get a dynamic keynote speaker who can transform your people and your world.  Take advantage of a unique libertarian orator, Basil Venitis.  As many associations, colleges, industry groups, ompanies, political groups, lobbyists, professional congresses, and speakers bureaus have discovered, speeches by Basil Venitis add immeasurably to the enduring value of a convention.

Venitis doesn’t restate what you can learn from regular sources, but he stretches your imagination to new horizons. Venitis is extensively involved in policy issues and the tax revolt. He is often a part of the process, working to shape and direct critical components of libertarian issues. Venitis is a master of a colorful rhetoric enriched with alliterations, metaphors, heightened imagery, and emotional effect.

Speeches by Venitis enable audiences to truly learn, and provide fascinating, provocative insights and analysis, getting to the heart of the matter. It’s no wonder that Venitis is so often called upon to present libertarian ideas and to clarify issues for the public.  Your convention deserves seven important comparative advantages, the magnificent seven:
